The former Aldershot striker has followed a similar path from the English non-leagues to join Lee Bullen's side. But the summer signing is adamant he can be his own man north of the border.
He said: "All players coming up from London will have a different path - some will come up and do well like Akinyemi, others not so much.
"He was obviously a fan favourite and scored a lot of goals. Coming up here I have my own targets on what I can bring to the team and I'm definitely a different type of player. I'm just focused on what I can do. I can play off either wing or up front and will do any job the manager wants me to do.
"I'm really enjoying it here and after having a few assists so far it was nice to get my first goal in front of the home fans. The finish was all instinct. Playing at this level you don't get time to take a touch so I just had to get a good connection and I knew it would go in.
"Hopefully we can go one better than we did last season. It's a case of grinding out the wins each week and seeing where it takes us."
