A murder investigation has been launched after a man was chased down the street and attacked with an axe in Trafford.
The 36-year-old victim died at the scene following the attack on Moss Lane in Partington.
The offender was seen smashing up a number of parked cars shortly before the attack.
The attacker reported the incident to police before fleeing from the scene, a GMP spokesman said.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning.
