EXCLUSIVE: Avant-garde car designer Chris Bangle is turning his talents to animated TV.
The former BMW Chief of Design, whose consultancy Chris Bangle Associates (CBA) is based in Italy, has launched Inanimatti Inc, a production business that will debut its first project at Mipcom.
Bangle led design for BMW for 17 years and was known for reimagining the designs of Minis, Rolls Royces, Fiats and other brands. Notably he was considered to add personality and character into the inanimate objects. As such, the 13x20mins Arky Arch Adventures targets kids aged 6-12 and is centered in a world, known as the Inanimatti, where everyday objects come alive.
Former Marvel Animation, Saban Entertainment and Fox Family Productions boss Eric S. Rollman is leading the project, which is in development and will launch in Cannes in October. The industry veteran launched his company, Rollman Entertainment, in 2010.
Arky Arch Adventures will follow the story of a young Roman arch, Arky, who embarks on a high-stakes journey across the planet Tredi and uncover his true purpose while saving the world from devastation. Arky is teased by classmates as strange because he is made of one block without real keystone, but inside he is thoughtful, courageous and resourceful and his passion leads to friends of all shapes and sizes following him on his quest.
“Our primary objective with the Inanimatti is to create a universe of imagination based, of all things, on how car designers see the world as full of buildings and things that are alive,” said Bangle. “We hope to encourage kids to see the world around them in a new and imaginative way, fostering a deeper appreciation for design and creativity, as well as teaching them the importance of accepting
