This AI will make a video of you dancing from just one photo

AI app can create a video of you dancing from a single photograph. As BGR reports, the technology is the product of a collaboration between researchers and Microsoft, and Tan Wang’s research team at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The model, titled Disentangled Control for Referring Human Dance Generation in Real World (DisCo), splits the inputted image into three parts: the background, foreground and the person’s pose. From there, it combines that information with data from the TikTok dance videos the AI has trained on in order to generate a clip of you dancing to a specific song.It is said that DisCo may use information from your own dance videos on the social media platform should you have uploaded any previously. However, you will never know if the AI had access to your posts. The technology could be used to help people learn or practice a certain dance routine, but could also result in fake content making its way onto TikTok.In the future, DisCo and similar apps may be used to preview complicated choreographies for shows and projects that involve real humans.

Naman Ramachandran “The Lady of Heaven,” “The Batman,” and “The Kashmir Files” were the most complained about films in the U.K. in 2022, the British Board of Film Classification’s (BBFC) annual report reveals. “The Lady of Heaven,” which the BBFC describes as “a drama concerning the life of Fatima, a daughter of the prophet Muhammad,” topped the list with 1,573 complaints “from people who felt that the film was blasphemous and historically inaccurate.” The film was pulled from some U.K. cinemas upon release due to these concerns. “Sometimes, we also receive complaints which do not relate directly to BBFC classifications, but instead reflect people’s wider objections to a certain film,” the BBFC said in its annual report. “Filmmakers are free to explore historical or controversial themes and events within their films. Our role is to ensure that we classify the content appropriately based on our guidelines, in order to protect children and other vulnerable groups from potential harm and to empower consumers to make informed viewing decisions.”

It won’t stop there, though; Pollstar is estimating that the final gross will wind up around $1.4 billion. The live music trade publication concedes that it is doing a fair amount of estimating on current and future grosses, but says its “crack numbers team” believes the tour will cross the historic $1 billion mark at some point during Swift’s shows in Singapore, which will take place during the March 2-9, 2024 window.
