With many households continuing to feel the crunch of the cost of living crisis, many will be looking for different ways that they can keep their costs low. And experts have urged supermarket shoppers on a method that has since gone viral - reusable toilet paper.
Shoppers who get their essentials at the likes of ASDA, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Aldi and other major retailers are being advised to reuse their toilet paper when they are next at the loo.
Like many household essentials, toilet paper has seen a price increase and, according to experts, washing and reusing your toilet paper after every use will combat your bills. Lovely.
They say that washable and reusable toilet paper provides a cost-effective and eco-friendly way to clean yourself, reports The Manchester Evening News. Additionally, reusable toilet paper is said to not create as much waste and stop you spending a fortune over time.
Naturally, the idea has horrified quite a few people on social media who have been quick to slam the idea.
One person on Facebook said: "Not for me, don't care how much money I'd save"
"No way!!!! I’m trying to cut down on the amount of times I wash a week not increase it", said a second slamming the idea.
"I'd rather use a dock leaf rather than that, what a minging idea. No poo in my washing machine thank you very much", said a third disgusted person.
"Or just use water like the rest of the world. Toilet roll is so unhygienic and you are never properly cleaned", commented a fourth.
Another person joked: ""Do you mind if I just get some tissue to blow my nos.......wait.....nevermind. It's fine".
One person fumed: "No way would I even think about it, never mind buy it, it's a bloody ridiculous idea and SO UNHYGIENIC."
