One Asda shopper has left others gobsmacked after sharing a simple hack that makes it easier to pay at self-checkout tills.
If there is one thing that supermarket shoppers can agree on, it is that self-service tills have been both a blessing and a curse all at once. While it can often be quicker for smaller purchases, the small slot for coins can sometimes be a struggle.
However, that issue can be a thing of the past for Asda shoppers, as one helpful shopper has shared a workaround on social media that can help you pay without fiddling with the coin slot - or counting your money.
As reported by The Mirror, TikTok user @bethanyjade_st shared a video of her paying at an Asda self-service till with coins.
Instead of casually popping the coins into the slot - like many of us - she lifts the black plastic surrounding to find a larger funnel that you can dispense your coins into.
Sharing the hack, she said: "I was today years old when I found out this life hack. Just lift the flap and let it count your money! I love this hack and need to share it."
It's worth mentioning that it is not clear if this hack is exclusive to Asda, or even works at all supermarkets, but the TikTok video shows a green Asda machine.
The hack was quickly met with responses from other stunned shoppers who were so thankful for the clever tip that wasn't on their radar.
"Oh my goodness - I never knew", exclaimed one. "Your level of quality work is excellent."
However, not everyone was a fan of the hack. Some were divided over whether it not this could cause issues by jamming the machine.
One person said: "This can literally break the machine. Don't do it."
"Recently found this out, and apparently it's how the people that work there fill it up with coins too",

Channing Tatum is back as the magic man, and Stephen Soderberg returns to direct Magic Mike’s Last Dance. Written by Reid Carolin, this stripper story has a feminist edge as it introduces a new character played by Salma Hayek who’s at the center of the story. Like the other two films, Last Dance has some electric dance numbers (choreographed by Alison Faulk and Luke Broadlick), with Tatum being as charming as ever. But something is missing from this one and its rushed conclusion makes those ending moments appear random and out of place.
