When it comes to the Armie Hammer controversy, many of us (understandably) tend to focus on the cannibalism part. But remember the claim that he was using his ladies for cash?
It seems that Netflix’s popular new crime documentary, The Tinder Swindler, has stirred up some memories for a few of Armie’s exes. The film recounts the crimes of serial conman Shimon Hayut, who posed as the son of an Israeli billionaire on dating apps and scammed various women out of approximately $10 million dollars.

You wouldn’t think there were many similarities between the fake heir of a billionaire and a famous actor (who is also the actual grandson of an oil tycoon, innerestingly). Yet his ex Courtney Vucekovich, who dated Armie for several months following his 2020 split from wife Elizabeth Chambers, previously dished to Page Six that the Call Me By Your Name star was secretly “broke” and that she paid for “everything, including gas for his truck” while they were together.
So it makes sense the crime doc might remind the 31-year-old of her ex. On Instagram, Courtney shared a screenshot of a group chat with two other women where they commiserated over the film. The contacts were labeled only as “P” and “LP” but we’re guessing these are more of Armie’s exes. “P” could be Paige Lorenze, who accused the actor of carving his initials into her. “LP” is likely Lisa Perejma, the dental hygienist he dated AFTER the wave of accusations came out. We guess she eventually met the real Armie, too?
“LP” was the first to broach the subject of the doc, texting a link to the trailer, writing that the story “sounds familiar.” Courtney replied:
She then sent a screenshot of a

And just like that, it’s already over.

Armie Hammer is turning over a new leaf for his family.
“Mad Max: Fury Road.”But what would the post-apocalyptic flick have been like if Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Renner, Armie Hammer or Joel Kinnaman took on the part?Writer Kyle Buchanan’s new book, “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road,” is full of tidbits about the making of the film — including an allegation that when Hammer, 35, and Hardy, 44, auditioned for the role together, things got a little … wet. An excerpt was published by Vulture on Wednesday, in which Buchanan wrote that Hardy reportedly slobbered all over the embattled “Death on the Nile” star.“Near the end of the process, Hardy emerged as a front-runner alongside Jeremy Renner and Armie Hammer.
“Mad Max: Fury Road” is one of the best action films of the last decade. But not only is the on-screen action and story incredibly interesting, but over the years, we’ve heard more and more behind-the-scenes tales that make it seem as if the drama behind the camera was almost just as fascinating.
Tom Hardy has revealed that he spat at Armie Hammer during his audition for Mad Max: Fury Road. The actor, who portrayed protagonist Max Rockatansky in the 2015 film, was competing for the lead role against Hammer when he got so into character that he gnashed his teeth and spat at his scene partner [via Vulture].Hammer, who had emerged as a front-runner alongside Hardy and Jeremy Renner, told director George Miller that Hardy needed to play Max more than he did.Audition cameraman Todd Matthew Grossman spoke in the forthcoming book Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road about Hardy’s presence. “Jeremy and Armie were equally wonderful, but there was something about Tom in the room where it felt like that was Max, without a doubt,” he said.“[Hardy] had that kind of suppressed emotional dryness that you’d find in a post-apocalypse and, buried underneath it, disdain for the world.
It’s tough to imagine any other actor than Tom Hardy in the title role of “Mad Max: Fury Road”, but there was some tough competition for the role.
A new excerpt from Kyle Buchanan’s upcoming oral history book “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road” has been released and it reveals that Tom Hardy actually spat at Armie Hammer during their audition for the role of Max.
Zack Sharf The rollercoaster journey of casting the title role in George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” is documented in Kyle Buchanan’s upcoming oral history book “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road.” An excerpt published by Vulture reveals that casting Max Rockatansky boiled down to Tom Hardy, Armie Hammer and Jeremy Renner after an exhaustive search that also included Michael Fassbender, Joel Kinnaman, Heath Ledger, Eric Bana and more.Buchanan, who is also the awards season columnist for the New York Times, reports: “Near the end of the process, Hardy emerged as a front-runner alongside Jeremy Renner and Armie Hammer. Hardy and Hammer even read together as part of their audition, and when Hardy gnashed his teeth and spat at his scene partner, Hammer told Miller that Hardy needed to be Max more than he did.” Audition cameraman Todd Matthew Grossman told Buchanan, “Jeremy and Armie were equally wonderful, but there was something about Tom in the room where it felt like that was Max, without a doubt.
Setting the record straight. Armie Hammer and his estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, have not reconciled their romance despite rumors to the contrary.
