Police have issued an appeal after an armed robber burst into a shop and broad daylight and stole £6,000 in cash.
The terrifying incident happened at a shop on Councillor Lane in Cheadle at around 10am yesterday morning (March 25). Police said the man burst into the premises and wedged the electric sliding door open.
He then approached the counter 'holding an unknown item' and demanded cash from a worker. He ran from the scene with £6,000 in cash.

He was believed to be 'acting alone', police said. No serious injuries were reported.
No arrests have been made and officers are continuing to hunt for the suspect. Today (March 26), police released a picture of a man 'they would like to speak to in connection with this incident as they believe he has vital information that could help'.
Anyone with information is being urged to come forward. Patrols have also been stepped up in the local area.
Detective Sergeant Chris Oldham of GMP’s Stockport district said: "We understand the concern this incident will raise in the local community and we are actively exploring a number of lines of enquiry. As this happened in broad daylight, we are confident there will be witnesses and we are now appealing to them to come forward and share any details with us that could help with the investigation.
"Thankfully no one was seriously injured or hurt during the robbery, but with a significant amount of cash being taken, we are committed on finding the suspect to prevent any further incidents. Patrols will continue in the surrounding areas to offer reassurance and we would encourage members of the public to continue to report or tell our officers of any
