Back to the Future and Contact director Robert Zemeckis looks to be returning to the science fiction genre with Warner Bros. and the astronaut thriller called Ares, studio sources confirm.

Warner Bros. is bringing some Chinese New Year blockbuster fare to North America in a big way.The studio has acquired North American theatrical rights to Wanda Pictures' upcoming tentpole Detective Chinatown 3.

Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed details of its wide specialty release of “Detective Chinatown 3” in North America. The film will reach American theaters on Jan. 24, coinciding with a huge outing handled by Wanda Pictures in China at the beginning of Chinese New Year (aka Spring Festival).
Looking to streamline costs, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. on Wednesday announced a joint venture that will see the two Hollywood studios share distribution duties for their physical DVDs in North America.The partnership intends to commence in early 2021, pending regulatory approval.
