Annie Lennox has told fans she needs to seek out some silence for the start of the year as she looked back at old artwork of herself.
The Eurythmics singer this week celebrated 39 years since the release of the famed Sweet Dreams album with co-star Dave Stewart.
Annie has recently been sharing portraits of herself on social media and confessed to fans she realised she needed a bit of time out after last year.
She told fans: "I hope you’re enjoying this deep dive into a rather ‘niche’ virtual display. I just thought it would be fun to share..
"At the end of 2021 I realised that I need to step away from the noise and haste for a while..
"To take some time to restore and replenish…So I might be a little more off the radar.. but I’m STILL going strong folks behind the scenes.. Stay with me!!!"
Annie also told fans what her insights and intentions were for 2022.
She told her followers: "Find and express your bliss..particularly in small moments, remember to take time to breathe consciously, slow down, calm down. let go of the inner roil, lighten up, laugh, treat others as you would wish to be treated."
She added: "Be kind to yourself and others, place boundaries, listen - don’t interrupt, flip it up!!"
Fans took Annie's words on board and appreciated her request for a bit of quiet.
One said: "Annie we will always stay with you. After all you have given us the perfect gift."
Another added: "We’ll always be here with you and for you. Chin up, buttercup. The Annie Army has your back."
Someone else said: 'All this time we've stuck right by your side. Don't think we're going anywhere now! Enjoy your respite from social media."
