An angry note-writer has been told to "get a life" after shaming a local driver's parking. The shocked motorist shared the rude note on social media, after finding it on his windscreen, and received a wave of support from people online.
The man shared his story on Facebook after parking his car overnight outside a shop near Hull. He returned to his vehicle the next day to find a laminated note, blasting him for his choice of parking location, reports Hull Live.
In the note, the anonymous writer gave the driver a stern telling off for parking in the spot which is for "residents and shop customers only". They also scolded them for not parking at their own property, which they strangely name-checked.
The full note read: "Please can you not park outside of the shops, as this is for shop customers and residents to park on a weekend. You live on Beverly [sic] Road, Hessle. Please can you park on your property. Thank you."
The shocked driver, who shared the picture in a community Facebook page, insisted that he did nothing wrong. He claimed there are "no restrictions" on the street and it is a public highway.
The driver said "Thank you for the note this morning. There are no restrictions and Boothferry Road is a public highway. My car is taxed, tested, and insured so I can park overnight on a public highway where there is a space."
Members of the community group were left dumbfounded and felt that whoever was behind the note was completely overreacting. One person said: "I'd be inclined to park there more often now."
A second added: "Need a bit of work on the scissors, the bottom's a mess!" Finding it equally ludicrous, another member said: "Shame they don't know how to spell Beverley!"
