Amy Adams joins ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ movie adaptation

Dear Evan Hansen, the hit , is coming to the big screen. The original show, with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, tells the story of an awkward high schooler who gets caught up in a lie after telling people he was best friends with a fellow student who dies by suicide. It's an emotional and socially relevant story that is now being adapted as a film. The musical won several including one for in the titular role, Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Direction.

Julianne Moore is joining Amy Adams to be the maternal figureheads in Dear Evan Hansen, Universal’s adaptation of the Broadway musical. The movie is warming up its voice as it is in the throes of casting.
