'American Idol' Reunion Special 2022: Performers Lineup Revealed!

Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as well as host Ryan Seacrest are all expected to be back on American Idol next season.

Two more contestants have eliminated from American Idol‘s latest season and the Top 5 have been revealed.

It has just been announced that two of the American Idol contestants have tested positive for COVID-19.

crash.Kennedy’s attorney, Ryan Beasley, had asked the judge to set a $20,000 bond, citing Kennedy's remorse and cooperation with law enforcement, according to the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.Beasley told news outlets he was disappointed in the judge's decision.“A 17-year-old’s mental health is much better at home than in a jail," Beasley said.Beasley has said previously that his client had been placed on suicide watch at the jail.Kennedy advanced into the Top 5 of the television talent show last year, but dropped out of the singing competition after a video circulated of him sitting next to someone wearing what appeared to be a Ku Klux Klan hood. Kennedy apologized at the time for the video, saying “it displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way.”Kennedy’s mother, Anita Guy, told news outlets the video was filmed when Kennedy was 12 and had been taken out of context.

As host Ryan Seacrest noted, William Hung went viral as an “American Idol” contestant long before viral videos were a thing, and so it was fitting Hung returned for the show’s 20th anniversary celebration Monday night.Hung performed the very song he auditioned with back in Season 3, way back in 2004 — “She Bangs” by Ricky Martin — looking much the same as he did almost two decades ago.Turns out, Hung is now a motivational speaker. So, Seacrest asked what he tells those who attend his talks.“I tell people I believe everyone has a right to try something new without being judged or ridiculed,” Hung said to cheers.

In classic Abdul form, she kicked into Paula-speak, which fans surely fondly remember.“I am most proud ,most humbled by having the experience of a lifetime,” she said.

The female student is not named in the booking document released Friday by the 19th Judicial District Court in East Baton Rouge — but the report does state that she dated Hardy between November 2021 and February 2022. The “Memorize You” singer has been notoriously private about his personal life and did not debut a girlfriend during those dates.The singing sensation has kept tight-lipped about his dating life since winning “American Idol” back in 2019.

Another American Idol alum has found themselves in some major legal trouble.

Ellise Shafer Country singer Laine Hardy, who won “American Idol” in 2019, was arrested on Friday by the Louisiana State University Police Department for allegedly planting a listening device in his ex-girlfriend’s dorm roomLSU spokesman Ernie Ballard confirmed to Variety that 21-year-old Hardy, who is not a student at LSU, was arrested on Friday on a felony charge of interception and disclosure of wire, electronic or oral communication. Hardy has been booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.The Associated Press reported that Hardy’s ex-girlfriend and her roommate found the alleged listening device, which looked like a phone charger, in their dorm room on April 6. She reported it to LSUPD the next day, and officers noted in a police affidavit acquired by the AP that they found recordings from a 10 day span in February.

On Friday morning, however, sources familiar with the case told WAFB-TV that the probe centers around allegations that Hardy was spying on the unnamed female student.
