Orkney rallied together to rescue a stranded orca from a beach near Tres Ness in what is believed to have been the first successful mission of its kind in the UK. The animal was spotted this morning, Monday January 4, by residents Colin and Heather Headworth who quickly called the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).The rescue was an extremely rare occurrence with stranded orca being an unusual sight.
