Alton Towers crash amputee Leah Washington was spotted arriving back at Manchester airport on Monday with new fiancé Joe Pugh after the pair’s surprising engagement announcement at the beginning of the week. The 24 year old was beaming as she landed in the UK after travelling back from Venice, Italy, where she was proposed to by boyfriend Joe, she told her followers on Instagram two days ago.

Fiancé Joe, 25, was pictured looking comfortably cool wearing a grey open checked shirt over a black T-shirt, a pair of grey sweatpants and matching white trainers with a black cap and a slim chain to complete the outfit. The couple no doubt were excited to return to the country to see their family and friends after sharing the happy news of their engagement on social media.
In the photos posted from their Venetian trip on Monday, Leah showed off her new sparkler to her followers as she captioned: “So this happened yesterday… I SAID YES”, while Joe wrote: “What a great end to a long weekend in Venice… SHE SAID YES.” The pair’s engagement comes six years after they went on their first date at Alton Towers, where they both suffered life-altering injuries after getting involved in the Smiley rollercoaster crash.
