It's time to step aboard Waverley, a magnificent paddle steamer, for a summer journey like no other.
Waverley is the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer, and until August 27, 2023, you can book a trip down the Firth of Clyde and enjoy cruising past some of the most beautiful, everchanging scenery the area has to offer.
Step aboard at one of sixteen ports around the Clyde Coast and steam around the popular Ailsa Craig or through the stunning Kyles of Bute.
You can take a cruise up the Clyde Fjords of Loch Long and Loch Goil beneath the beautiful Arrochar Alps and join Waverley for an evening sunset cruise “doon the watter”.
Visit family-favourite destinations such as Millport, Rothesay or Brodick on Isle of Arran, or let Waverley take you to an enchanting village such as Tighnabruaich or Tarbert. You'll find a huge variety of choice with Waverley.
Throughout the summer, Waverley will offer a variety of cruises berthing at a host of towns and villages including Glasgow, Greenock, Ayr, Girvan, Dunoon, Largs, Millport, Brodick, Lochranza, Tighnabruaich, Rothesay, Tarbert and, for the first time in 20 years, Waverley will once again depart from Troon.
Unlike more modern ships, Waverley feels alive with the beat of her paddles and the sound of her whistle, complete with polished brass fittings, traditional wooden decks and the gentle aroma of hot oil and steam.
People stop to admire her as she passes by, the sight of her large funnels is instantly recognisable.
Once aboard, make sure to visit the Engine Room and savour the sight, sound and armour of a real steamship. Hear the telegraph ring and watch the engine start to move. You can even see the paddles turning through the portholes.
Full catering facilities are available
