Bolton Coroner's Court heard that Brian Mountford was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 2017 and was detained under the Mental Health Act on six occasions between his diagnosis and his final hospital admission in November 2019. Mr Mountford was released from the Eagleton acute assessment ward at Salford Royal Hospital's Meadowbrook Unit on December 6 2019, but returned on a voluntary basis two days later, only to be told that there were no beds available.
