Alec Baldwin's accidental shooting incident leads to conversations about gun bans on movie, TV sets

Alec Baldwin, armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed and assistant director Dave Halls have been named in a lawsuit stemming from the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust."  Hutchins was fatally shot, and director Joel Souza was wounded when a gun that was held by Baldwin to rehearse a scene fired, discharging a live round.

It sounds like consequences for the Rust tragedy are going to take some time to sort out.

Alec Baldwin took to social media on Monday to share his idea to make film and TV sets that use firearms more safe — hire police officers.  The 63-year-old actor has been at the heart of an ongoing debate in Hollywood about the use of real guns during production after an on-set accident involving him left "Rust" cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and director Joel Souza wounded.

Hilaria Baldwin took to Instagram on Sunday morning to show that she’s surrounding Alec Baldwin with family following his traumatic incident on the set of "Rust."  Alec was holding a prop gun that somehow went off on the set and discharged a live round that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza.
