Aldi has left customers on social media amused after they cheekily responded to one customer who mocked them for selling a pizza cutter that looked like a vegetable peeler.
The German discounter is no stranger to having a humorous presence on Twitter and their latest response lives up to their light-hearted nature after they poked fun at themselves over the kitchen utensil design blunder.
The Mirror reports that customers poked fun at the supermarket for selling a pizza cutter that didn't look like the traditional wheel-shaped kitchen device.
In fact, multiple shoppers pointed out that it looked like it was more suitable for peeling vegetables, rather than cutting up slices of delicious pizza.
One shopper shared the design blunder and asked: "Is it a pizza cutter or a peeler? It can't be both, surely."
Living up to their cheeky online presence, Aldi wittily responded with: "A real chef is never restricted by his tools."
The budget supermarket chain's comic response has quickly went viral with over 13,000 likes and hundreds of retweets from delighted customers who have joined in on the fun.
""A pizza peeler - it's what I've always wanted", responded one sarcastic shopper. To which Aldi responded with: "Finally, I don't need to spit out the pizza skin anymore."
When another customer joked that they cut their pizza with a potato masher, Aldi quipped: "Mashed pizza is my favourite!”
And after one shopper said they have seen people "cut pizza with scissors," Aldi replied: “I've seen someone just fold one over and eat it like a sandwich!"
The German grocer has since confirmed that both items were in fact vegetable peelers.
