Aldi has announced big changes to over 30 stores across the UK this summer, including two in Greater Manchester.
Stores in Walkden and Hyde are among those that the budget supermarket will refurbish over the coming months. The new refurbishment plans will see store layouts improved so that customers have more space to shop.
Changes to make stores more sustainable will also be carried out, such as installing doors on fridges to reduce energy use and using natural refrigerants in a bid to reduce carbon emission.

Aldi also confirmed that some of the changes could include updating signs and completely changing store layouts, with most of the work taking place across June, July, and August.
The changes come as part of Aldi's plans to invest more than £90 million to improve stores throughout 2024.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “Aldi attracted more new customers than any other grocery retailer in the last 12 months, and we want to continue to offer the best possible in-store experience for our shoppers.
“We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience is on a par with the high-quality products and service we offer. Finding ways to reduce any environmental impact as we continue to grow our store estate across the country is also a vital part of these changes.”
