Alan Cumming has opened up about checking himself 'downstairs' and revealed what doctors said when he discovered marks on his testicles.
The Scots actor joined Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle on This Morning on Thursday when discussions turned to a worry the US The Traitors host had about his body when doing a routine check.
The 58-year-old was on the ITV programme to talk about his new stage production 'Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age' when he admitted the one time he does feel his age is when he makes his regular trips to the dermatologist.
Alan said he visits the skin specialist regularly as he has such pale skin, before adding: "I hope I'm allowed to say this.... I get these mole checks you know I've got these moles and because I'm pale and one time I was in the shower having a little check and I was checking downstairs.’
He then went on to stress the importance of checking yourself and raising awareness of testicular cancer before adding: "So I was doing that and I saw these two little red dots on one of my testicles. It was like someone had taken a red Sharpie and gone “boop boop” on one of my balls - someone may well have done that and I just didn't notice."
Josie and Craig giggled as Alan continued: "So I went to the dermatologist and was like, 'what are these, is it like a little pimple?'
"And he looked at it and went, “Oh, Alan, that’s nothing to worry about, that’s just a normal part of scrotal ageing.”‘
Craig laughed: "Well, the weird thing is they look old in the first place, don’t they? They’ve looked old since you were an infant!"
Alan laughed: "Scrotal ageing is a thing."
