A man has been arrested after reports of a person attempting to throw “suspected bleach” at cars on a busy main road in north Manchester.Police were called to Ashton New Road, in Clayton, at around 4.30pm this afternoon (August 11).Their attendance followed reports that a man was “attempting to throw suspected bleach at nearby cars”.Officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of affray.The incident is understood to have unfolded on the busy main road, close to the Aldi supermarket.A Greater

The M60 was closed for an hour this morning due to a police incident.The clockwise carriageway was shut at junction 20 for Blackley just before 6am.The A664, Rochdale Road, which runs above the motorway, was also closed while emergency services attended.Greater Manchester Police, North West Motorway Police and the North West Ambulance Service were all called to the scene. Both the road and the motorway have now reopened, and traffic is now running as normal following earlier congestion.
