Adam Devine has been hit with a Rangers first-team ban after his B Team derby red card - and will miss next week's Old Firm derby.
The Scotland Under-21 defender was one of THREE Ibrox players to see red in Sunday’s explosive second-string clash. The fresh-faced full-back got his marching orders for a stoppage-time lunge on Celtic kids skipper Matthew Anderson as Gers finished the 3-1 defeat with just eight men. Devine, 20, has made seven first-team appearances this season but was back on reserve duty as David McCallum’s Light Blue young guns hosted their Parkhead rivals at Ibrox. But he has now been ruled out of next week’s first-team showdown at Celtic Park after his injury-time moment of madness.
Ordinarily, suspensions picked up in the Lowland League would be served in the fifth-tier competition. However, as Devine has played more games for Michael Beale’s top team than McCallum’s academy outfit, he is viewed under SFA rules as a “recognised” first-team squad member and must now serve a two-game senior ban.
As well as Saturday's trip across the city, he will also be sidelined for the visit of St Mirren to Ibrox on April 15. Beale was there to see Arron Lyall put Rangers ahead early but Celtic’s turning point came when Gers keeper Lewis Budinauckas was sent off handling outside his box. Ben Quinn's double plus an Adam Brooks strike then sealed a comfortable win.
Bailey Rice was also dismissed for a second yellow card before Devine’s rush or blood at the death. The defeat puts a huge dent in Gers’ hopes of catching Lowland League leaders Spartans. The Ibrox side have now dropped to third with the Edinburgh outfit three points in front of Celtic with three games remaining.

Chris Frantz Sire Records co-founder Seymour Stein was indisputably one of the greatest music executives of all time, with a career that spanned six decades and a rare ear for talent that led Madonna, Talking Heads, Lou Reed, Ice-T, Depeche Mode, the Pretenders, the Smiths, and many others to his label. Stein, who died on April 2 at the age of 80, is remembered here by Chris Frantz, drummer of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, who, with Tina Weymouth (now his wife), Jerry Harrison and of course David Byrne, signed with the label late in 1976. Seymour told this story many times. His first visit to CBGB’s on the Bowery was to see the Ramones. His wife Linda insisted that he see them because they were something new and fabulous and she thought he should sign them, which he did. He was standing outside the club on the sidewalk speaking with [Patti Smith’s longtime guitarist] Lenny Kaye, waiting for Ramones to go on when he heard the support band begin to play. “When my love stands next to your love….”

Marc Malkin Senior Film Awards, Events & Lifestyle Editor Adam Sandler may have done some impressive action sequences in “Murder Mystery 2,” but it sounds like he’s not jumping at the chance to do his own stunts again anytime soon. The actor tells me he underwent hip replacement surgery not long after he and Jennifer Aniston wrapped the follow-up to their original “Murder Mystery” comedy. “My god damn hip, I had to change that at the end of the movie,” Sandler told me Tuesday at the film’s premiere at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles. “I had been doing so many movies in a row. I did ’Spaceman’ and I was hanging in harness all the time. I kept saying, ‘Something’s going on with my hip, man. What’s Adam McKay have on his mind as a follow-up to 2021’s “Don’t Look Up“? At the Tribeca Film Festival last year, McKay hinted that he was working on a script all about “big, dirty money,” ostensibly about the USA’s corrupt corporate and financial sectors. That sounds like a logical next step for the guy who made “The Big Short” in 2015.
