Channel 4 has temporarily taken A Place in the Sun off air in scheduling shake up. The much-loved property show sees its hosts Jonnie Irwin and Laura Hamilton help guests find their dream homes abroad and leave their home in grey Britain behind. However, eagle eyed fans might have noticed that it's not been aired at its usual timings in the past few days.
Yesterday and today (10 March), dog show Crufts, presented by Clare Balding, will air from 3pm until 4pm with A New Life in the Sun being broadcast right after. Next week, from Monday, March 13, Tool Club will be shown in place of A Place in the Sun from 3pm until 4pm. Fans were upset about the schedule shake-up, with one writing on Twitter: "I like dogs, but couldn't care less for Crufts #aplaceinthesun." Another who was expecting to sit down and enjoy an episode of the travel programme said, "Bloody Crufts again! Aggh! #APLACEINTHESUN." "#crufts! Nooooooo! #aplaceinthesun," typed another.
At this time it is unclear when A Place in the Sun will next air. OK! has contacted Channel 4 for comment. Earlier this week, A Place in the Sun hosts Jasmine Harman and Jonnie Irwin were reunited in Manchester for A Place in the Sun Live.
Jonnie, who is currently battling stage four lung cancer, took to Instagram to share a snap of the outfit he had picked out for his surprise appearance. He captioned the photo: "Selecting wardrobe for @aplaceinthesunofficial LIVE Tomorrow in Manchester. It’s an early start and as I’m not fit enough to run for the train atm I’m prepping the night before.
