A Place in the Sun's Jonnie Irwin says he's left himself filled with painkillers are a "torrid night in pain" with his cancer. The Channel 4 presenter, 49, took to Instagram to update his 141k followers about his condition, just days after a holiday abroad in Marrakesh in Morocco.
Jonnie wrote: "After a torrid night in pain I dosed up on PKs and was able to enjoy the beautiful Lakes via E-mtb. I’ll probably pay for it later but grateful for the window, the company and the weather. Only my second time, hired one machines but I’m hooked! #thelakes"
He posted also shared a stunning snap of the Windemere countryside, which has been liked 15.5K times by his fans. Just last week, Jonnie was in Africa, as he enjoyed a relaxing holiday in Marrakesh.
Fans have been quick to throw their support behind him after his post today with one writing: "If had a Christmas miracle I'd give one to you. What a fighter and inspiration to us all … enjoy every second."
Another added: "May you experience moments of respite from the pain while soaking in precious moments with your kids and wife." While a third sweetly penned: "What a inspiration you are. Never give up hope. Thinking of you and your lovely family. You seem like a lovely man."
Last month, Jonnie revealed that he was told he "six months to live" one week after wrapping up filming the beloved Channel 4 programme in Italy back in 2020 - but has since stayed alive because of treatment.
The presenter revealed his diagnosis - that he had kept private - to Hello! Magazine in November.
In his chat with the magazine, he said that he wants to help other people in his situation "see that you can live a positive life, even though you are dying".
