We’d been sitting for about 10 minutes — Friedle, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and me — gathered around a corner booth in a Studio City restaurant. “Oh, my gosh, I’m sorry, I have to take this,” he says after pulling his iPhone out of his pocket.
