Later this week, Castlefield Bowl will welcome thousands of music fans for the 2023 edition of Sounds of the City. Every year, the open-air music series brings together some of the biggest names in rock, indie and pop - and this year is no exception.

Emmy is all about celebrating excellence, and it has been for three quarters of a century,” said Maury McIntyre, president of the Television Academy. “Those standards really haven’t changed significantly regardless of what era the greatest medium on Earth has been in. In that spirit, we didn’t want to veer too far with Emmy herself.”
