After a turbulent two years of wedding cancellations due to Covid-19, many newly-engaged couples are finally tying the knot in 2022 – with an estimated 2.5 million nuptials due to take place this year. For what’s set to be the biggest wedding season on record, those planning their special day can hopefully look forward to a mask-free ceremony, a packed dancefloor and as many guests in attendance as they’d like.
Not only does pretty much anything go this year, but the pandemic has changed the way people think about weddings, with more and more couples ditching traditional styles for something unique and contemporary. From at-home receptions to rental bridal gowns, brides and grooms-to-be are switching it up this year – and to tell us more, we’ve got the lowdown from Illy Goodall, wedding planner and founder of Illy Elizabeth Weddings, who has the scoop on this season’s biggest trends.
