Well, Parklife 2022 certainly didn't disappoint. Back in it's usual June spot, following a September stint in 2021 - due to Covid restrictions - the two-day festival, which welcomed more than 80,000 festival goers each day, was one for the books.
This year came with plenty of surprises, including a proposal during Yung Filly's set on Saturday afternoon. Myles Goodfellow popped the question to his now fiancé Indy Geraghty after arranging it with the rapper and social media star's manager 'weeks before.'
The pair, from the Scottish Borders, who were sadly targeted for trolls online following the proposal, were later offered a free honeymoon by the festival’s boss. Sacha Lord has also pledged to give Indy and her now-fiancé Myles free entry to the festival for life.
Despite some curveballs from the weather gods, it remained - on the whole - pretty dry, but even when the rain did come, the spirits of festival goers were never dampened. Fabulous fashion statements were also made - think bucket hats galore, psychedelic two-pieces and lots and lots colour.
And then there was the music. Not one, not two, but three US rapping superstars took the stage across the weekend. On Saturday night, 50 Cent - who arrived earlier that day with the biggest security convoy that the festival has ever seen - took the stage and wasted no time in getting straight to the classics - P.I.M.P., Candy Shop, 21 Questions, Window Shopper - with a hefty looking golden ‘50’, encrusted with diamonds, hanging from his neck.
