A new trailer has arrived for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”, the upcoming Apple TV+ series set in the world of mighty movie monster Godzilla.

What happens after humanity discovers monsters? The Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” follows the events after legendary creature Godzilla and the Titans wreak havoc. A city destroyed, many are searching for answers; two siblings begin unraveling what’s really behind Monarch — an organization whose motives remain mysterious.

Selome Hailu Apple TV+ has set a title for its upcoming series from Legendary’s Monsterverse: “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.” “Monarch” is set in the same universe as the films “Godzilla” (2014), “Kong: Skull Island” (2017), “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019), “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021) and the upcoming sequel “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” Spanning three generations, the series following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.

Wyatt Russell plays Cooper, who accepts an offer to test out an advanced, virtual-reality horror video game but gets much more trauma than he signed up for. The game taps into Cooper’s darkest fears, such as inheriting his late father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis, and delivers enough Dan Trachtenberg-directed jump scares to leave you unsure of what’s really going on until the final seconds.

Another Marvel blockbuster has hit a roadblock.

Ellise Shafer Marvel’s upcoming “Thunderbolts” film has paused production due to the ongoing writers strike, Variety has confirmed. The movie was scheduled to begin shooting in Atlanta next month, and plans to resume production after the strike is resolved. Part of Marvel’s Phase Five, “Thunderbolts” is set to bring together the worlds of “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “Black Widow” and the upcoming “Captain America” installment “New World Order.” “Paper Towns” director Jake Schreier is helming the film, with “Beef” creator Lee Sung Jin penning the script from a first draft by “Black Widow” writer Eric Pearson. The “Thunderbolts” cast includes Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, David Harbout, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Harrison Ford, all reprising their Marvel characters. Newcomers in undisclosed roles include “The Bear” breakout Ayo Edebiri and “Minari” star Steven Yeun. The film is currently scheduled to be released on July 26, 2024.

EXCLUSIVE: Blumhouse and Atomic Monster’s Night Swim from writer/director Bryce McGuire has added Amélie Hoeferle, Gavin Warren, Nancy Lenehan, and Jodi Long to the cast. Adam Wingard returns to direct. “Godzilla vs. Kong” grossed $470 million worldwide, a healthy sum when many moviegoers were still hesitant to return to theaters in the midst of the pandemic. It was released simultaneously on HBO Max, causing controversy when Legendary was not on board with the early streaming release.

Universal Pictures, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse’s Night Swim is now opening on January 5, 2024 instead of January 19.

David Harbour is a relative newcomer to the MCU — he debuted his role as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian in 2021's and is set to reprise the character in the upcoming team-up. So when it came time to learn everything he could about his future castmates, he turned toco-star Anthony Mackie, who had some particular advice about his franchise frenemy, Sebastian Stan, who will also be appearing in as Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier.  «Sebastian is a very nice person,» Mackie said with a grin as he and co-star Jahi Di'Allo Winston spoke with ET's Ash Crossan this week.«Don't take his quietness and standoffishness as him being mean or rude. Universal is wasting little time scheduling another horror title from James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Pictures. “Night Swim,” an original horror film starring Wyatt Russell (“Overlord”) and Kerry Condon (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”), has been slated for theatrical release on Jan.

Bryce McGuire will direct and write the supernatural thriller which is built around the hidden source of terror found in an iconic backyard swimming pool. The film is based on the short film created by McGuire and Rod Blackhurst.
