Actors who once absolutely refused to work together

an actor’s method of preparation or questionable commitment to a role, there’s a plethora of reasons co-stars could butt heads. In some instances, these experiences can be so bad that it means they’ll never ever work together again. But for others, time heals their wounds and they’re able to at least co-exist on set again — even if it’s just for the fans’ sake. Other actors on this list didn’t just affect their co-stars, but members of the production team, too.Let’s just say there’s a reason why they tell you to meet your idols, let alone work with them and be crushed by their lack of professionalism.

Like many filmmakers, the lost and unmade movie list of David Fincher list is long, so long we did an entire feature out of it back in 2014, and it’s more than 30 films long. The list includes “Black Dahlia” (which Brian DePalma eventually made), “Mission Impossible 3,” “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea” and more (interestingly enough, both “Mank” and “The Killer” were on it, then-unrealized projects that seemed like they would never get made).

‘Expendables 4’ Review: Jokey, Fight-Filled Last Hurrah Feels Like ‘Meg 2: Part 2’

Sequels, and sequels of sequels, have trouble differentiating themselves from their brethren from time to time. But Expendables 4 (or Expend4bles, as this fourth and final entry in the mercenary-based action series has been marketed), indisputably takes the cake for recycling previously used material in a not exactly fresh context. At least the final third — and maybe more — of this jokey, fight-filled and increasingly effects-driven last hurrah is nearly a twin brother to the climactic stretch of last year’s waterlogged Jason Statham extravaganza Meg 2: The Trench, wherein the rugged Brit takes on — and once again prevails over — a sea monster that makes Moby Dick look like a backyard swimming pool pet. It really is a shameless “borrowing” that’s impossible to ignore if you’ve seen Meg 2, as the tireless former male model with perfectly maintained facial stubble once again earns his status as master of the seven seas.

‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Review: Director Calmatic Bricks His Second Remake of 2023

Todd Gilchrist editor “White Men Can’t Jump” holds a special place in a lot of moviegoers’ hearts; while not the enduring sports classic that writer-director Ron Shelton delivered with his baseball mash note “Bull Durham,” the buddy comedy vividly captures the world of pick-up basketball players, and features three standout performances by Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson and Rosie Perez. Director Calmatic’s 2023 remake not only fails to recapture the energy of the first film but seems to misunderstand the cinematic language of streetball, and is largely uninterested in utilizing stars Sinqua Walls and Jack Harlow except as delivery systems for exposition. Updated only in its excess of contemporary slang and overwrought backstories, “White Men Can’t Jump” exemplifies the aversion to risk and lack of imagination in storytellers mining intellectual property at the behest of blandest-common-denominator-seeking corporate overlords.

Jack Harlow Talks Filming Acting Debut in ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ While Recording Album: ‘I’m a Hard Worker’

Sophia Scorziello editor Jack Harlow makes his acting debut in the new remake of “White Men Can’t Jump.” “It was grueling. It was a hot summer,” the 25-year-old musician told Variety at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday night. He stars in the movie as Jeremy, a basketball hustler. While shooting the film, Harlow was also juggling the production of his latest album “Jackman.” “I just made it work,” Harlow said. “I’m a hardworker, I guess.” Sinqua Walls plays Harlow’s partner in crime, Kamal. On working with Harlow, Walls told Variety, “It was easy. He was one of my first castmates to ever call me before shooting to work on lines together. I have a lot of love for him. I’m telling you right now, this is just the beginning because the sky is the limit for my brother.

Fintch has no plans to stay in jail, regardless of what the FBI think, and soon hatches a daring plan to break out. Jack Harlow’s ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ debut irks fans: ‘No one wanted this’

the trailer released Thursday, the “First Class” rapper, 25, and actor Sinqua Walls, 38, put their spin on the 1992 film of the same name that starred Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes.Similar to the original Ron Shelton-directed film, a white basketball player, portrayed by Harlow, and a black hooper, Walls’ role, are an unlikely pairing that team up in hopes of winning $500,000 in a basketball tournament — realizing along the way that they have “more in common than they imagined possible,” according to the movie’s synopsis. Thursday’s trailer sees Harlow’s Jeremy as a meditating, juice-cleansing athlete that Walls’ Kamal states dresses like “a white girl at Whole Foods.”“Hey, they’re letting yoga instructors in the gym now,” remarked one character when Jeremy, who wears a crewneck that reads “self-care club,” walks into the room.
