I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, despite being a show about macho biker guys, “Mayans M.C.” has some of the most layered and interesting female characters on TV right now. And perhaps no character exemplifies that more than Emily, played by the wonderful Sarah Bolger.

The film stars Adam David Thompson and Riley Dandy and premieres March 11 as part of the festival’s Midnight selection. Marking Michael Felker’s feature directorial debut, “Things Will Be Different” follows siblings Joseph and Sidney, played by Thompson and Dandy, who are on the run from the law.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Dominic Cooper (“Mamma Mia”) and Sarah Gadon (“A Dangerous Method”) are co-starring in “Cry From The Sea,” a Canadian-Irish movie directed by cinematographer-turned-helmer Vic Sarin (“Cold Comfort”). The movie, which is currently shooting, is represented in international markets by Cinema Management Group, with WME and Laura Rister handling U.S.

McKinley Franklin editor JD Pardo is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming Season 5 of FX’s gritty biker drama “Mayans M.C.,” Variety can exclusively reveal. Pardo has starred in “Mayans M.C.” since its premiere in 2018. For the fifth and final season of the series, Pardo will make his directorial debut during the show’s fourth episode, which will air on Wednesday, June 7. Episode 4, entitled “I See the Black Light,” teases that “after a fatal error, the Mayans navigate the dangers of their new trade, forcing an unlikely alliance.” Meredith Danluck wrote the episode. Elgin James and Kurt Sutter are executive producers and creators.

Mayans M.C. will premiere its fifth and final season on Wednesday, May 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX, and streaming the next day on Hulu.

Mayans M.C. will end with Season 5 on FX.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Lyon Daniels and Noah Cottrell have been cast in two of the lead roles in “The Spiderwick Chronicles” series currently in the works at Disney+, Variety has confirmed. The pair join previously announced cast member Christian Slater, who will play the villain Mulgarath. The show was first announced as part of Disney+ Day in November 2021. Based on the best-selling children’s books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, “The Spiderwick Chronicles” follows the Grace family — twin brothers Jared (Daniels) and Simon (Cottrell), sister Mallory and their mother Helen — as they move into their great-great uncle’s home and discover a world of fairies that exists parallel to their own.

Naman Ramachandran “Beautiful Blue Eyes,” the last film starring Roy Scheider, will release worldwide on June 10, following a charity premiere in London on June 6.The two-time Oscar nominee (“Jaws,” “The French Connection,” “Marathon Man,” “Klute,” “All That Jazz”) died in 2008 while “Beautiful Blue Eyes” was being filmed. Completion of the film was put on hold until AI and CG technology was advanced enough to overcome the technical challenges faced by the filmmakers.

Sarah Bolger is set to star in the historical true crime drama Black Donnelly’s, based on the infamous Irish-Canadian Donnelly family and their local feud and grisly massacre in 1880. Bolger will play the role of Johannah Donnelly, a brave mother and ruthless protector of her children and property while her husband Jim Donnelly was imprisoned.
