Iconic cast members from the long-running Australian soap Neighbours are coming to Manchester next year to celebrate the show’s 40th anniversary.

Neighbours, the returning soap that has been playing elsewhere (Channel 5 and previously the BBC in the UK, has been released by its new home – streamer Freevee.The series will return to screens on 18 September, with new episodes releasing daily, Monday-Thursday, at 7 a.m. BST, on Amazon Freevee in the UK and the U.S.

To the relief of Neighbours fans, Ryan Moloney is returning to the Australian soap as Jarrod 'Toadie' Rebecchi ahead of its upcoming Amazon Freevee reboot - and the long-time star has promised that the new series is just as dramatic as it's always been. Ryan arrived on Ramsay Street in 1995 and stuck with the soap until it was cancelled by its Aussie channel Network 10 last year.Thankfully, Amazon Freevee stepped in and announced that it would be picking up the long-running soap for its streaming site. Neighbours fans can officially get excited as the iconic soap's return date has finally been revealed for its big Amazon comeback.The Aussie soap was axed last summer, after 37 years, with fans devastated at the news, however, it was later announced that it would be making a return to our screens as production company Fremantle signed onto the project with Amazon Freevee. Fan favourites, including Stefan Dennis as Paul Robinson, Alan Fletcher as Karl Kennedy, Jackie Woodburne as Susan Kennedy and Ryan Moloney as Toadie Rebecchi, are all set to return.

After the supposed 'series finale' aired in late July 2022, it was announced this week that a series relaunch was in order.  

Neighbours returning to our screens later this year, former star Natalie Imbruglia has said she would be open to hitting Ramsay Street again in new episodes. The soap was controversially axed last year before being saved at the last minute by Amazon Prime Video's Freevee, with new episodes being filmed and slated for release in the latter half of 2023. A number of former stars will be reprising their roles, including Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Jackie Woodburne, and Ryan Moloney.

The announcement was made on stage during the final show of “Neighbours – The Celebration Tour” by returning cast Alan Fletcher, Jackie Woodburne, Stefan Denis, Ryan Moloney, Annie Jones and April Rose Pengilly. “It’s a hive of activity at the studio. We’re busy writing the next chapter of “Neighbours”, bringing to life again the show’s much-loved characters as well as new residents,” said the show’s executive producer, Jason Herbison.

The cast of Neighbours has announced that a new series of the Australian show will start filming next month. Seven long-time characters are joining Amazon Freevee’s continuation of Australian soap “Neighbours.” The new additions include Annie Jones (as Jane Harris), Rebekah Elmaloglou (as Terese Willis), Georgie Stone (as Mackenzie Hargreaves) and Tim Kano (as Leo Tanaka). All cast members will return as series regulars. Meanwhile, those returning in guest roles are Ian Smith (as Harold Bishop), April Rose Pengilly (as Chloe Brennan) and Melissa Bell (as Lucy Robinson). They will be joined by “Neighbours” stalwarts Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney and Jackie Woodburne, who were previously announced.
