EXCLUSIVE: Paramount is moving around a number of its unscripted shows.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to star in “The Department,” an espionage thriller series directed by George Clooney. Set to start shooting in London this spring, “The Department” is based on “The Bureau,” the hit French spy show created by Eric Rochant. It has already been given a straight-to-series order by Showtime.

EXCLUSIVE: MTV Documentary Films’ impressive slate of short films will debut on the Paramount+ streaming platform on Tuesday, a lineup that includes The ABCs of Book Banning, the directorial debut of documentary legend Sheila Nevins.

Amy Israel, the former Showtime exec, has officially been installed as President of Television at Peter Chernin’s The North Road Company.

Lashan Browning and her Antoinette Media banner is going further into business with Paramount.

Charna Flam Paramount’s MTV Entertainment Studios and film and TV producer Lashan Browning have announced a new joint venture, Antoinette Media. The company is described as a full-service production company working on unscripted titles, scripted features, and documentaries. Browning currently produces seven series for MTV Entertainment Studios, including “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” “Love & Hip Hop Miami,” “Love & Hip Hop Family Reunion,” “Couples Retreat,” “Caught in the Act: Unfaithful,” “Shaunie & Keion: Destination I Do,” and “Run it Back.”

Manori Ravindran Executive Editor of International Dogwoof has boarded MTV Documentary Films’ Sundance winner “The Eternal Memory” for international sales excluding the U.S. The latest feature from Oscar-nominated “Mole Agent” director Maite Alberdi had its world premiere as part of the World Cinema Documentary Competition at Sundance last month, where it won the World Cinema Documentary Grand Jury Prize before MTV Documentary Films acquired worldwide rights. Dogwoof will work in partnership with MTV Documentary Films to represent the film for international sales. The project marks the second collaboration between Dogwoof and Alberdi, having represented “The Mole Agent” for international sales before it was nominated for an Academy Award for best documentary feature in 2021.

Monday started with a shock and awe campaign at Showtime as the exits of a slew of top executives were announced in short succession. By the end of the day, about 120 people in total had lost their jobs in the layoffs, sources confirm to Deadline. That represents more than 10% of the company’s workforce.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer That didn’t take long at all: Just after revealing that Showtime co-presidents Jana Winograde and Gary Levine are stepping down from their current roles, with Winograde exiting entirely and Levine moving into an advisory position, parent company Paramount Global has revealed that the remaining Showtime team will be merging with sister brand MTV Entertainment Studios. Within the combined entity — created as Showtime’s linear and streaming platforms are being integrated into Paramount+ and rebranded to Paramount+ With Showtime — a new leadership structure has been set by Paramount’s president and CEO of streaming Tom Ryan and president and CEO of Showtime and Paramount Media Networks Chris McCarthy.

The full extent of the changes at Showtime have started to emerge as the premium cable network has set its new leadership team under Nina L. Diaz with more executives leaving following the corporate restructure.

Drag Race is expanding again. Three new editions are planned for Brazil, Germany and Mexico that will air on MTV/Paramount+ in their respective territories. As part of the expansion, RuPaul’s Drag Race heads to MTV for its 15th season in January, while RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race will return for season 3 in 2023 on VH1.

The documentaries join a slate that includes Ondi Timoner’s Sundance title “Last Flight Home,” which will be screening at Telluride this week in a rare double festival act. The fledgling division, which was Oscar-nominated for the film “Ascension” earlier this year, was set up in 2019 by legendary HBO Documentary Films boss Sheila Nevins, and ViacomCBS executives Liza Burnett Fefferman and Nina L. Diaz. Nevins was at HBO for 38 years and won 34 Emmys in that period. Her credits include “Citizenfour,” “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief” and “Paradise Lost.”

Don’t expect to see a new season of Floribama Shore anytime soon. MTV has opted not to move forward with a fifth season of the reality series, at least for now, sources tell Deadline. We hear the future of the series is being evaluated.

Blue did not specify what his plans for the future are but, according to sources, the former PBS NewsHour and Nightline producer would likely return to the news field where he has spent most of his career to date.

Cribs is coming back to the US in August, with a new line up of guests.Martha Stewart, Big Sean, Rick Ross and Ashlee Simpson are all on the roster for the reboot, due out August 11.Cribs creator Nina L. Diaz, President of Content and Chief Creative Officer.
