The classic Chucky film horror franchise is making the leap to television with the upcoming USA/Syfy series from Child’s Play creator Don Mancini and Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca, with Brad Dourif returning as the voice of Chucky alongside the movies’ Jennifer Tilly.

“All I wanted to do was make a movie,” utters would-be film director Lisa Nova (Rosa Salazar) after things have escalated greatly late into Netflix’s new horror series “Brand New Cherry Flavor.” Created by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero,” “The Act”) and Lenore Zion, and adapted from the novel of the same name by Todd Grimson, the show follows Lisa down a nightmarish spiral after she comes to Los Angeles with dreams of turning her experimental short film “Lucy’s Eye” into a feature.

video above.The series was ordered more than a year ago by Syfy. It will finally air this fall on both Syfy and USA Network.Don Mancini, who wrote all seven “Chucky” films and directed three, will serve as showrunner and direct the first episode.

No network or streaming service is currently attached.

Jan Broberg's unbelievable true story is becoming a TV series. The Act's Nick Antosca will script the limited series from UCP based on the life of Broberg, an actress who recurred on Everwood, who was abducted and sexually abused as a child by a family friend.
