Ever since it was announced, we’ve been anxiously awaiting the new film, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.” The premise, which feels like it could be the culmination of everything Nicolas Cage has been working towards in this later part of his career, is perfectly meta and strange and seems almost too good to be true. But not only is ‘Unbearable Weight’ actually happening, but we have our first look at the film.

Japanese auteur Sion Sono has been Japanese cinema’s most subversive filmmaker for 30 years now. Now, the man behind the likes of 2001’s “Suicide Club” and 2010’s “Cold Fish” makes his English-language debut with a leading man who can match his provocative style: Nic Cage.

2014 warned us all about the dangers of harming another man’s animal companion in “John Wick,” a standalone film featuring Keanu Reeves making approximately 500 kill shots in a 100-minute time frame; that film expanded into two more, plus another 500 kill shots per sequel, not including kill shots made by Reeves’ costars, a la Halle Berry. The moral of the story is that when you break into a home, don’t kill the dog.
