Kate Aurthur editorAfter the firestorm earlier this month caused by caused by racist (and deleted) Facebook posts by “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” cast member Jennie Nguyen, Bravo announced Tuesday that Nguyen has been fired from the show. It had recently begun filming its third season in Utah with Nguyen, Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Jen Shah, Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow returning.

Meredith Marks is finally elaborating on her “vile” tweet — in response to castmate Jennie Nguyen’s resurfaced racially insensitive social media posts. On Sunday, the 49-year-old took to Twitter to post a statement.“Since it was not perfectly clear in my previous tweet, and I can now speak out in more depth. I am sickened by my co-worker's racist and prejudicial posts that recently surfaced,” Marks wrote.

In the posts, Nguyen, who is Vietnamese-American, shared racially insensitive memes and mocked protestors and compared them to “thugs.” After the posts resurfaced on Wednesday, fans of the show called for Andy Cohen and other  producers to remove her from the franchise.
