As Season 1 of “House of the Dragon” comes to a close, HBO subscribers need not wait long for another healthy dose of prestigious family drama set in the world of the wealthy and influential. The trailer has arrived for Season 4 of “Succession,” HBO’s razor-sharp drama slash satire centering on the embittered Roy family, owners of the fictional media empire, Waystar Royco.

Introduced at the height of her powers, the world-renowned composer-conductor who lends Tár (★★★★☆) its brusque title is meticulous in every detail of how she conducts her life. Lydia Tár strives for perfection in her work, her image, and her bespoke suits, and demands the best from her musicians, students, and staff.But Lydia, portrayed with leonine intensity by Cate Blanchett, has grown increasingly sloppy in one area of her well-tended life.

“Allow me in, and you will be free.” These are the chilling words spoken by a mysterious nanny (Chai Fonacier) who upends the life of a fashion designer (Eva Green) recovering from an unknown illness in the trailer for filmmaker Lorcan Finnegan’s “Nocebo.” The film’s two-minute trailer does a great job establishing an eerie atmosphere without revealing too much. While it is quite apparent that Green’s character is still in recovery from whatever has stricken her, much to the worry of her husband (Mark Strong), Fonacier’s sudden entrance into their lives goes unexplained.

Shudder will release the film in 2023. Both RLJE and Shudder are business units of AMC Networks Shudder focuses on streaming movies in the horror, thriller and supernatural genres. “Nocebo” centers on a fashion designer (Green), who suffers from a mysterious illness that confounds her doctors and frustrates her husband (Strong). Help arrives in the form of a Filipino nanny (Chai Fonacier) who uses traditional folk healing to reveal a horrifying truth. 

Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast opposite Jodie Comer in upcoming survival thriller film The End We Start From.Directed by Mahalia Belo (Requiem, The Long Song) and based on the novel by Megan Hunter, The End We Start From follows a young family who are torn apart by devastating floods in the city of London.A synopsis reads: “When an environmental crisis sees London submerged by flood waters, a young family is torn apart in the chaos. As a woman and her newborn try to find their way home, the profound novelty of motherhood is brought into sharp focus in this dystopian portrayal of family survival and hope.”Alongside Cumberbatch and Comer, the film stars Mark Strong, Katherine Waterston, Joel Fry, Gina McKee and Nina Sosanya.The Killing Eve actor also shared a first look at the project on Instagram.
