Strictly Come Dancing and soap fans were cheering as former Corrie star Katie McGlynn was unveiled as the seventh contestant joining this year’s Strictly live on BBC Breakfast - just ahead of the show’s own host Dan Walker being named as the eighth! And the 28-year-old actress, who had Corrie fans crying buckets when as the newlywed Sinead Tinker she died tragically from cancer last year, was delighted that the news was finally out there.

With Strictly Come Dancing season just around the corner, fans are busy counting down the days to see the new group of contestants battle it out in the BBC ballroom. And with the likes of McFly singer Tom Fletcher, actress Katie McGlynn and TV presenter AJ Odudu leading the class of 2021, it looks like it’s going to be a series to remember.
