Katherine Ryan has reassured fans that she did not feel "uncomfortable" after an on-stage confrontation with rapper Slowthai at the NME Awards.

​slowthai was set to be crowned the Hero of the Year at Wednesday’s NME Awards, but he ended the night having to apologize to host Katherine Ryan publicly instead. The rapper had a bizarre exchange with Ryan in the middle of the show, where he made sexually forward comments that elicited a series of sarcastic responses from her.

Rapper Slowthai has apologised to Katherine Ryan for his behaviour on stage for which he was criticised at the NME Awards.

Slowthai has caused controversy at the NME awards after he got into a confrontation with a member of the audience while accepting a hero of the year award.

Tonight at the 2020 NME Awards, slowthai got into an altercation with an audience member. Following an onstage interaction with comedian Katherine Ryan (who co-hosted the event), slowthai ended his speech by accusing an audience member of “ruining” his remarks and tossed his microphone into the crowd.
