Bryce Dallas Howard Says 'Jurassic World Dominion' Filmmakers Wanted Her to 'Lose Weight'

Bryce Dallas Howard is proud of her body and the action-packed stunts she was able to deliver in . But in a new interview, the 41-year-old actress opens up about facing body scrutiny while filming the third and final film in Universal's dinosaur-based trilogy. Asked about what her role as Claire Dearing means for female representation in action films, Howard tells Metro that she had «been asked not to use my natural body in cinema.» Clarifying, she continues, «On the third movie, it was actually because there were so many women cast, it was something that [director] Colin [Trevorrow] felt very strongly about in terms of protecting me…because the conversation came up again, 'We need to ask Bryce to lose weight.'» She credits Trevorrow with not only being in her corner during those conversations with unnamed filmmakers, but pushing for wider representation overall. «He was like, 'There are lots of different kinds of women on this planet and there are lots of different kinds of women in our film,'» she says, «and I got to do so many stunts that wouldn’t have been possible if I had been dieting.»Howard says she was «thrilled» at the on-screen action she was able to perform. «I got to do it with my body, she was at her maximum strength, and I hope it is just yet another indication of what's possible,» she says of her character. «In this movie, there were more women than men.

Sometimes, the call of nostalgia and influential blockbusters is too tempting to ignore. Despite his intended desire to stay away from blockbusters and big-brand I.P., and try and stick to original films, filmmaker Gareth Edwards is stepping in to direct the new “Jurassic World” film from writer David Koepp, the original screenwriter of Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park.” Edwards is “replacing” “Deadpool 2” and “Bullet Train” filmmaker David Leitch, who was briefly engaged in negotiations to direct the film but fell out over creative differences.

another “Jurassic Park” movie on the way courtesy of original “JP” screenwriter David Koepp, according to People and the Hollywood Reporter.Koepp, who also write the original’s sequel, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” will come up with a new storyline for the fabled franchise, which has grossed over $1 billion worldwide, according to the report.Steven Spielberg will board the project as an executive producer along with Patrick Crowley and Frank Marshall. There are no details about casting or the plot at this point in time. The project is coming along so nicely that the studio “is whispering” about a possible 2025 release date, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news. The new movie is likely to revolve around an all-new storyline, so it’s unclear if “Jurassic World” stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard would be back — and it “seems” that characters played by Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldlbum would not appear, according to THR.Pratt, who starred in the “Jurassic World” trilogy, seemed to deflate talk of another movie during a 2022 appearance on the “Today” show to promote “Jurassic World: Dominion,” which followed the events of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” (2018).“This is the sixth ‘Jurassic’ film, and it’s the end of the franchise,” he said … “You got the legacy cast back — Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum — plus the cast of ‘Jurassic World,’ all our storylines converging in a way that is very much a finale.”But never say never, especially for such a powerhouse movie franchise. The reaction of fans on social media was mixed regarding the new movie.“I’m a total slut for the Jurassic films.

Jurassic World Dominion has divided critics in early reactions.Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are joined by the original Jurassic Park cast in the sequel, including Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.Despite this dose of nostalgia, it seems the follow-up to 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hasn’t quite met the rapturous reception it wasn’t hoping for.Scott Menzel from We Live Entertainment, wrote: “It brings me no joy to report that Jurassic World Dominion is a MASSIVE disappointment. While the film does feature some incredible dinosaur sequences and it is great to see the original cast back on the big screen, the film fails to deliver on what the previous films promise.”A similar sentiment was shared by film critic Courtney Howard, who described it as the “worst of the franchise” and that it “ignores the premise it should’ve had from the start”.Some, however were positive towards the sequel.

‘Jurassic World Dominion’ took inspiration from the Joker, according to director

Jurassic World Dominion director Colin Trevorrow has compared one particular dinosaur in the film to the Joker. The third part of the Jurassic World series is due to hit cinemas this summer, with stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard due to return alongside franchise veterans Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. The film is also set to introduce Giganotosaurus – or Giga – a real dinosaur that existed, with Trevorrow suggesting that the creature will feel like the DC villain.“I wanted something that felt like the Joker,” he explained to Empire. “It just wants to watch the world burn.”The news comes after Dominion‘s runtime appears to have been confirmed, with the film clocking in at two hours and 26 minutes – 17 minutes longer than its predecessor Fallen Kingdom. The film also recently dropped a trailer, which takes viewers four years after the events of the last film when a neo-Jurassic age was established, with humans becoming prey for dinosaurs.Dominion is set to be the final part of the Jurassic series, Trevorrow telling Entertainment Weekly last year: “To me, [‘Dominion‘] is a culmination of one story that’s been told.“When you got to the end of the Jurassic Park trilogy, it may not have been as clear in what the complete story of those three movies was because they were a bit more episodic in the way that they were approached.
