Julia Garner is remaining optimistic that the scrapped Madonna biopic will happen — eventually.The star spoke with ET's Denny Directo at the Oscars party on Sunday, where she addressed the current status of the project, which was to be directed by Madonna. The film, which was to star Garner as the music icon, was put on hold in January after Madonna announced a world tour.«Yeah, yeah,» she told ET when asked if she was hopeful the movie would come to fruition down the line.«I don't want to tell too much. I want to keep things… yeah, fingers crossed,» Garner said of the potential biopic.In July 2022, ET reported that Garner was the top choice to play Madonna in the movie. Per  at the time, the film was to follow the early days of Madonna's career and how she became a legend. Amy Pascal was producing the project, with Universal Filmed Entertainment Group chairman Donna Langley nabbing the script after a bidding war.Madonna had said her hope for the biopic was to «convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer -- a human being, trying to make her way in this world.

29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best film and TV performances of the past year, were handed out live.For the first time since 1998, the ceremony was not broadcast on TV. Instead, it aired on Netflix's YouTube channel after it was announced that the platform will begin streaming the ceremony live in 2024, as part of a multi-year partnership with SAG-AFTRA. Going into the awards,  and both led with five nominations each, including four individual acting nods and one for ensemble.

Zendaya made her debut at the 2023 SAG Awards on Sunday with a head-turning look. The star had all eyes (and cameras) on her as she stepped out at the annual awards ceremony on Sunday, in a pink corset dress by Valentino--  adorned with blush roses. EXCLUSIVE: George Nolfi will direct Lyrical Media’s post-apocalyptic action thriller Elevation with Anthony Mackie, Morena Baccarin and Maddie Hasson set to star. Brad Fuller is on board to produce with John Glenn and writing duo Kenny Ryan and Jacob Roman penning the script. The film is billed as a high-concept, thematically driven action piece set in the Rocky Mountains.  The plot is being kept under wraps, but the story is said to follow a single father and two women who must venture from the safety of their home to face monstrous creatures in order to save the life of a child. 

Marking another major merger in the representation world, sources tell Deadline that Anonymous Content is in exclusive negotiations to acquire management And production firm Grandview/Automatik. The two companies have had discussions about a potential merger going all the way back to the spring with nothing serious ever coming of it but over the past couple weeks talks have ramped up and sources close to the situation say they are now exclusive.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Anonymous Content is currently an exploring an acquisition of Grandview/Automatik, Variety has learned from sources. Should the deal go forward, it would merge the two management and production companies into a single entity. Sources say that the two companies had previously had limited discussions about a potential merger, but nothing was serious until recently. Reps for both Anonymous and Grandview/Automatik declined to comment. Grandview/Automatik was originally founded in 2014 by former CAA agent Matt Rosen, manager Jeff Silver, and producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones. On the management side, Grandview currently has 20 managers handling over 500 clients. Among their top clients are “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski, “House of the Dragon” co-creator Ryan Condal as well as series star Olivia Cooke, “Atlanta” executive producer and director Hiro Murai, “Prey” director Dan Trachtenberg, and “Maid” creator Molly Smith Metzler.

Not only did she make history as the youngest-ever recipient of not one but two awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, but her ball gown, a swooshing and strapless number from Valentino, lent towards Old Hollywood. According to her stylist and image architect, Law Roach, the dress was based on an archival gown from the late 1980s - yet another example of something old taking today's red carpet by storm.

There were tears and surprises at last night's Emmy Awards on Monday as Julia Garner triumphed for playing the role of Ruth in Netflix’s Ozark.
