Star Trek: Picard will bring back the crew for the third and final season of the Paramount+ series, reuniting them with Patrick Stewart one last time, the streaming service announced Tuesday (aka First Contact Day).LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn and Gates McFadden will all make their debuts, joining their former co-stars Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiner — all of whom have already appeared on the spinoff — in the forthcoming season.“I remember watching the premiere of  almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday. It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction,” said Terry Matalas, season 3 showrunner and executive producer.

It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction,” Terry Matalas, Season 3’s showrunner and executive producer, said in a statement.

Six Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members will be boarding Star Trek: Picard for the third and final season of the Paramount+ series. LeVar Burton and Michael Dorn, along with Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiner will join Patrick Stewart in the final chapter of Star Trek: Picard. This is the first time Paramount+ has confirmed Picard will be ending with the third season, although stars of the series, including Stewart, have stated as such in interviews over the past couple of months. The stars of Star Trek: The Next Generation gathered via Zoom for a special occasion: co-star Marina Sirtis' birthday. Sirtis, who played Troi in the CBS series, and Jonathan Frakes, who played Riker, posted photos of the online reunion with their former co-stars Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard), Brent Spiner (Data), LeVar Burton (Geordie), Michael Dorn (Worf), Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher), and Wil Wheaton (Wesley).
