The award is given to a creative “whose voice has made a distinct impact on the current moment in TV and whose work exemplifies the emotional, entertaining, and artistic possibilities of the medium”, the festival announced Wednesday.

But underneath their fever dream lurks a more unsettling interpretation of this affair. “The Venery of Samantha Bird” portrays addictive love and the repercussions that a relationship has on the families in a small town. Langford is best known for starring as Hannah Baker in “13 Reasons Why” on Netflix, with other prominent roles including Meg Thrombey in “Knives Out,” Leah Burke in “Love, Simon,” Mara Carlyle in “Spontaneous” and Nimue in “Cursed.”

“Station Eleven” is quote-unquote “gone,” or over, but far from forgotten. In fact, the expansive HBO Max original limited series that ended in late January just keeps blossoming in the mind as the viewer keeps soaking up what they experienced.

Both will be produced by Universal Television.
