All Creatures Great and Small has confirmed its return and shared an exciting update with fans about the upcoming future series, the 2024 Christmas special and which cast members are set to return. The cast and crew of the popular period drama will soon be heading back to the Yorkshire Dales to shoot the hit adaptation by BAFTA award-winning production company Playground, based on the best-selling novels of real-life Thirsk vet Alf Wight, who wrote under the pen-name James Herriot. On Friday, Channel 5 confirmed the double commission of series 5 and 6 - as well as a beloved Christmas special.

Nicholas Ralph, the star of the popular TV show All Creatures Great And Small, has shared his fears when filming a particularly challenging scene. The actor, who plays vet James Herriot, had to mimic a real life vet to the extreme scenario while filming a scene involving a nervous horse giving birth. Nicholas opened up about his scary experience, and said to The Mirror: "One of the scariest was I had to birth a foal in season three.

The tinsel is up at Skeldale House, for another episode of All Creatures Great and Small, and after three Christmas specials, the show has fast become a festive staple.
