The trio, who come from talent (Levine, Hepburn) and lit (Rivers) backgrounds, are bringing all of their clients to the new venture.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter “Grey’s Anatomy” has been renewed for Season 21 at ABC, Variety has learned. The renewal extends the series’ record-breaking run as the longest running primetime medical drama in TV history, which it first became in 2019. It is also the longest running primetime scripted series in ABC history.

That sometimes stretches into the summer but this time, deals have wrapped relatively quickly, with all longtime fan favorites set to return as series regulars for Grey’s Anatomy‘s landmark 20th season.

The stars of Grey’s Anatomy gathered up for one epic selfie at the 2023 Paleyfest in Los Angeles on Sunday night (April 2).

The conversation took place during the “Grey’s Anatomy” panel at PaleyFest LA, held in Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre and moderated by Emmy nominee T.R. Knight — who portrayed Dr. George O’Malley on the show for 15 years. Besides Vernoff, the talk included cast members Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone, Camilla Luddington, Kelly McCreary, Kim Raver, Jake Borelli, Chris Carmack, Anthony Hill, Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane, Midori Francis and Niko Terho. Debbie Allen, who stars and also serves as EP, was not in attendance despite being scheduled to appear.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter “Grey’s Anatomy” has been renewed for Season 20 at ABC. With the renewal, the series continues its run as the longest running primetime medical drama in TV history. In addition, series executive producer Meg Marinis will serve as showrunner on Season 20. Marinis takes over from Krista Vernoff, who was reported to be stepping down from “Grey’s Anatomy” and its spinoff “Station 19” back in January. The Season 19 finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” will air on May 18. The show has seen a number of exits this season, most notably Vernoff and Kelly McCreary (who’s played Dr. Maggie Pierce for nine seasons) — and series lead Ellen Pompeo, kind of. Pompeo has been with the show since it debuted, but in the Feb. 23 episode, her character Meredith Grey moved from Seattle to Boston. She will continue to provide the voiceover at the beginning and end of each episodes, and she’ll also appear on the finale. Pompeo’s status for Season 20 is still up in the air.

Grey’s Anatomy’s Season 18 finale left the fate of several major characters in limbo, leaving fans to fret over the summer if their favorites are coming back.
