Wunderhorse will be heading out on tour for their biggest shows to date later this year.The news follows the announcement earlier this week of their second album, ‘Midas’, which will land on August 30 via Communion. Wunderhorse have shared their bluesy new single ‘Midas’ – check it out below.The track opens with a crisp guitar riff and sees frontman Jacob Slater sing/speak: “The voice inside the suit came crawling through the telephone / Somewhere between the cheeseboard and a nursery rhyme / I heard the rattlesnake shaking in his invitation / And the whites of his knuckles on the other end of the line”, his voice reminiscent of Bob Dylan.Speaking about the creation of the song in a press release, Slater said: “The song was written in a bathtub in Paris, and forgotten about until it resurfaced in Minnesota. Midas is the guy who makes you feel like a pencil stub, all used up and nothing to show for it, but it’s always just business as far as he’s concerned.”Directed, shot and edited by Polocho, the accompanying music video sees the band performing the song in a dark room while a man in a business suit is crafting a baby doll in a scary office looking room.The track marks the band’s first release following their 2022 debut album ‘Cub‘.

Wunderhorse has announced details of his debut album ‘Cub’ and a headline show in London.The band – the project of former Dead Pretties frontman Jacob Slater – emerged last year with debut single ‘Teal’ and have shared a handful of singles since.On September 16, ‘Cub’ will land via Communion and feature ‘Teal’ among other recent singles including ’17’, ‘Butterflies’ and ‘Poppy’.“I was tired of having to get up on stage and pretend I wanted to throw myself around and smash things up every night and sing these intense songs,” Slater said in a statement about his transition from Dead Pretties to Wunderhorse.“They were good songs, but I didn’t think we’d be able to transition into doing the more introspective music that I wanted to make. I thought it would just alienate people.”He added: “I stopped taking drugs and I stopped the band. The two things seemed to go hand in hand.
