Gabriel Iglesias just made history in his hometown of Los Angeles, CA. The comedian, affectionately known by fans as “Fluffy,” became the first of his kind to not only play a show at the historic Dodger Stadium--but completely sell out back-to-back shows.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted to send a letter to the major studios urging them to return to the bargaining table with striking actors.

County Supervisor Hilda Solis were among the legislators on hand at the stadium Friday afternoon to mark the moment for Iglesias, the first comedian to score back-to-back sellout concerts at the venue, which holds more than 45,000 people.In a brief ceremony prior to Friday’s show, Iglesias, a native of Long Beach, was praised by officials for his work to make audiences laugh and for the tone that he strikes in his comedy.Clayton Davis, Variety‘s senior awards editor, emceed as Iglesias (and one of his beloved chihuahuas) were presented formal certificates and proclamations from city, county and state officials.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn said today that the county will relax its indoor mask-wearing requirement this week, allowing vaccinated people to remove masks in indoor spaces where people are checked for proof of vaccination. She says the change could take effect by Friday.

“Los Angeles County will essentially align with the state,” said L.A. County Board Chair Hilda Solis on Monday afternoon, “which will include outdoor dining.” She said those changes would happen by the end of the week.

Late Monday, Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda Solis issued an order directing county health officials to make Covid-19 vaccine appointments available to anyone 65 and older starting Thursday — despite health officials’ concerns about the supply of doses. Indeed, there were an estimated 800,000+ healthcare workers and others qualified for the vaccine before the county expanded eligibility to another 1.3 million residents 65 and older.

The race is on to succeed Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in the Senate. Fox News has been told for months that California Secretary of State Alex Padilla is the odds-on favorite to step into Harris’ seat.
