Hayley Williams Covers Beyoncé During Paramore’s Houston Tour Stop

Sophia Scorziello editor Paramore’s Hayley Williams took a break from the band’s usual set list to channel her inner Sasha Fierce, covering Beyoncé’s “I Miss You” in the Texas-bred singer’s hometown of Houston on July 11. Most of the song was performed by Williams in a capella while the rest of the band took a back seat. In fan-captured videos, Williams’ silhouette stands out as she’s surrounded by dim red lighting. She can be heard belting out the bridge: “It is so simple a feeling, but it’s everything / No matter who you love, it is so simple a feeling, but it’s everything.” The song is somewhat of a deep cut from Beyoncé’s fourth studio album, 2011’s “4,” which featured mega-hits like “Who Run the World (Girls),” “Count Down,” “Love on Top” and “Dance for You.” “I Miss You” was penned by Frank Ocean and marked his and Beyoncé’s first collaboration together as artists. They again joined forces on the song “Superpower” from her self-titled album and Ocean’s “Pink & White,” from his album “Blond.” Like Williams, Ocean has performed his own rendition of the song during his rare live performances.

Taylor Swift ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ Vault Tracks Review: Key Co-Stars Include Hayley Williams, Fall Out Boy and… Grandmother Marjorie

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Sorry, Hayley Williams and Fall Out Boy: Marjorie has stolen the show again. Not that Taylor Swift’s beloved grandmother actually puts in a vocal appearance from the great beyond, as she did on the “Evermore” album three years ago. But Marjorie Finlay still manages to be a dominative force in the Vault Tracks for the newly released “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” by having her photos appear throughout the lyric video for the closing track, “Timeless,” and having her relationship with Taylor’s granddad be a focus of the inspirational ballad. Twenty-first-century pop-punk or emo can hardly compete with that emotional a capper. But for those less sentimentally inclined, Paramore’s singer and Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump will be way up there in what Swift fans immediately take away from the six previously unheard compositions that have been appended to the previous 16-track running order of 2010’s “Speak Now.” The duet with Williams, “Castles Crumbling,” is particularly pungent, as a lament that just about could have been an outtake from the more recent “Folklore” or “Evermore” instead of an album that came out a full decade before those. As for the FOB-aided track, it’s the farthest thing from a Swift classic. But — having been written, like the rest of these tracks, when the artist was 18 or 19 — the number does hark back to an era when girls (and Fall Out Boys) could just wanna have fun.

Taylor Swift has announced the addition of 14 new ‘Eras’ tour dates in the UK and EU –  with Paramore serving as support – with the shows now seemingly ruling her out as a potential Glastonbury headliner. The new dates include additional shows in Paris, Sweden, Portugal, Lyon, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Poland and Austria. The three dates at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium fall on the same weekend as Glastonbury 2024, ruling out the possibility of the pop icon headlining the iconic music festival in Somerset.Swift was recently linked to being one of the two female headliners booked for next year’s edition of the festival due to the previous gaps in her touring schedule that coincided with the 2024 festival dates.Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour. And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? Paramore Brings Lil Uzi Vert Along for ‘Misery Business’ as Hayley Williams’ Star Power Lights Up Madison Square Garden: Concert Review

Jordan Moreau Hayley Williams, the lead singer of rock band Paramore, and Lil Uzi Vert, the Philly rapper behind “Just Wanna Rock” and more, have been fans of each other for a long time, but it wasn’t until Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden that they finally met. The mutual adoration started in January 2016 when Uzi posted a video of himself on Twitter singing along with Paramore’s hit song “Ain’t It Fun.” At the time, Uzi was still an up-and-coming rapper with a few catchy tracks under his belt, but Williams must have taken note. Over the years, they traded compliments for each other — Uzi named her his dream collaboration and that “there’s no one better than Hayley Williams” in a recent Complex interview, and Williams revealed the two had talked about a collab that never came to fruition — until the two took the stage together in New York City.
