In its biggest contraction ever, the CW’s DC Universe lost three series heading into next season with the cancellation of veteran Legends of Tomorrow as well as Batwoman, currently in Season 3, and freshman Naomi. It now consists of veteran The Flash, Superman & Lois and new entry Gotham Knights — all for midseason — as well as Stargirl (shared with HBO Max), which is the sole DC representative on the fall schedule.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterThe CW chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz reassured DC fans that the network plans to continue making superhero shows despite recent events.“[We’re] staying in the superhero business,” Pedowitz said on a press call ahead of the network’s annual upfront presentation for advertisers. “We are staying working with Greg Berlanti, who has masterminded creatively The CW DC Universe.”Pedowitz then pointed to the fact that DC’s “Stargirl” will be on The CW’s fall lineup, while fellow DC shows “The Flash” and “Superman & Lois” will be airing at midseason along with the new DC show “Gotham Knights.” He did acknowledge, however, that the network’s DC offerings have been pared down, such as the cancellation of “Legends of Tomorrow” after seven seasons and of “Batwoman” after three.

The CW revealed this morning that it was bringing “iconic” drama series Riverdale to an end with its seventh season and it plans to give it an “appropriate send off”.

The CW is saying goodbye to Riverdale.

Public relations specialist Gabi Mosley (Hampton) — who was once herself one of those forgotten ones — and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people.

Melissa Benoist is in talks to star in the upcoming HBO Max drama series The Girls on the Bus.

Coming off six seasons as the lead of Supergirl, Melissa Benoist is poised to reunite with Berlanti Productions on another series. Benoist is in negotiations to headline The Girls on the Bus, which just received a straight-to-series order at HBO Max, I have learned. Benoist also is expected to serve as a producer on the drama series, an adaptation of Amy Chozick’s best-selling book Chasing Hillary, from Julie Plec, Chozick, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV. Reps for HBO Max and WBTV declined comment.
